Tartu Running Marathon (or Tartu Jooksumaraton), taking place in South-Estonia, got itself a new name and is now called Tartu Forest Marathon. Also, a 42 km distance has been added to the programme.
Race Director Indrek Kelk explained that the organizers wanted to bring up more of the event’s character – Tartu Forest Marathon takes place mostly on terrain and in the forest.
In addition to the 23, 10 and 5 km distances a full marathon distance, 42 km, is on the programme for the first time. The track of the 42 km distance runs between Otepää and Elva, as does the 23 km distance (10 and 5 km take place nearby Elva). Detailed course maps will be revealed after the 45th Tartu Maraton.
Last year a record breaking 10 205 runners and Nordic walkers took part in the different events of the Tartu Running Marathon.
36th Tartu Forest Marathon will be held on the 13th of May. More info and registration HERE.
