REGULATIONS OF THE TARTU MARATON CUBE 2016

1. The intention of the Tartu Maraton Cube (hereinafter Cube or Cup) is to motivate people to participate in sports throughout the year and take part in events organized by the Club Tartu Maraton.

2. In 2016, the Cube consists of 6 events organized by the Club Tartu Maraton on the following distances:

  • 44. Tartu Maraton on February 21, 2016 (hereinafter “TM”): 63km and 31km
  • 34. Tartu Jooksumaraton on May 8, 2016 (hereinafter “JM”): 23km and 10km
  • 35. Tartu Rattaralli on May 29, 2016 (hereinafter “RR”): 135km and 60km
  • 10. Tartu Rulluisumaraton on August 21, 2016 (hereinafter “RUM”): 42km, 21km and 10km
  • 19. Tartu Rattamaraton on September 18, 2016 (hereinafter “RM”): 89km and 40km
  • 5. Tartu City Marathon on October 1, 2016 (hereinafter “LM”): 42km, 21km and 10km

A person, who has completed at least one of the distances in the above named events, is considered a Participant, regardless of the method of registration.

3. Registration takes place on the website of Club Tartu Marathon at www.tartumaraton.ee.
To take part in the Cup, it is possible to register for all of the events at once or to separately choose one or more, as the Participant wishes. Entry fee rates and deadlines are listed on the homepage and in the regulations of each event.
3.1. By registering to several 2016 Cup events at once, the following Cube season discounts apply (regardless of the race distance):

  • by registering to 4 events at once - 10% of the current entry fees;
  • by registering to 5 events at once - 15% of the current entry fees;
  • by registering to 6 events at once - 20% of the current entry fees.

3.2. A discount of 50% is available for the youth up to the age of 18 (included), this discount does not apply to the re-registration fee and other discounts.

3.3. For those who registered with the discount price (eg group discounts, Cube season discount) other discounts do not apply.

3.4. A discount of 10% is available for groups of 10 or more participants to whom other discounts do not apply. The registration must be done as a group all at once via the registration system of our homepage.

4. The individual rankings of the Cup shall be determined based upon the results of the events named above.

4.1. To ascertain the rankings lists of the Cup, the index of the Participant's rank (hereinafter K) for each event shall be calculated:


The higher the value of the K index, the better the result. The results are rounded to one decimal place.
Each participant shall receive at least one point.

4.2. The weight of the K index of the different events and distances varies as follows:
The K index value of the main distance of the TM is 105%, the values of the main distances of all of the other events are 100%. The K index value of the shorter distance of the TM is 75%, the values of the shorter distances of all of the other events are 70%. As an exception, the values of the 10 km distances of the LM and the RUM are 50%.
For the purpose of K index calculation, the results/times of the Nordic Walking are included in the results of the running marathon distances of the respective event.

4.3. The top 6 Participants of every main distance shall receive bonus points, in addition to the points calculated on the basis of the K index, as follows: 100, 50, 25, 15, 10 and 5.
Bonus distances are: TM 63km, JM 23km, RR 135km, RUM 42km, RM 89km and LM 42km.

4.4. The overall rankings in the Cup shall be determined by adding together the Participant’s point scores from the events. The top 4 results out of the possible 6 events shall be taken into account in the rankings list.

4.5. In case of Participants that have acquired an equal number of points over the course of the Cup, the higher rank shall be given to the athlete, who:

  • has participated in a higher number of events organized by the Organizer during the season,
  • if the number of completed races is the same, the advantage shall be given to the athlete with the highest point score in their best event,
  • in case the point scores of their best events are equal, the second highest scores shall be taken into account, and so on for third highest scores etc.,
  • if none of the conditions named above are sufficient, the Participants shall be ranked on the same rank
  • participants hidden in the start and result lists will not be ranked.

4.6. The running rankings list of the Cup shall be updated after every event, and published in the official results on the homepage of Club Tartu Maraton.

4.7. The final rankings of the Cup shall be determined after the sixth event – the Tartu City Marathon – and shall be published on the Friday following the event on the homepage of Club Tartu Maraton.

5. The team rankings of the Cup shall be determined in two race categories: clubs and companies. There are no separate team rankings for men and women.

5.1. The club rankings are open for participation for any registered sport club and freely made up collective

5.2. In the company rankings, employees of a company and their family members can form a team. Under family members we mean a spouse/partner, their children, parents, and brothers and sisters.

5.3. The team rankings list of each event shall be composed by adding together the top 5 scores of each team’s / company’s members.

5.4. The top 4 club / company results out of 6 shall be taken into account in the overall team rankings.
In case of teams that have acquired an equal number of points over the course of the Cup, the higher rank shall be given to the club / company that:

  • has participated in a higher number of events organized by the Organizer during the season,
  • if the number of completed races is the same, the advantage shall be given to the team with the highest point score in their best event,
  • in case the point scores of their best events are equal, the second highest scores shall be taken into account, and so on for third highest scores etc.,
  • if none of the conditions named above are sufficient, the teams shall be ranked on the same rank.

5.5. A club / company may put out several teams (I, II, III etc.). The top 3 clubs and companies of each event shall be awarded as follows: 1st place - cup + 7 free entries to the next event of Cube; 2nd place - cup + 5 free entries to the next event of Cube; 3rd place - cup + 3 free entries to the next event of Cube. The cups are handed over at the prize-giving ceremony of the next event of Cube in accordance to the time Schedule indicated in the program of the event. Information about free entries will be sent directly to the e-mail of representative of the club or company.

6. Awarding ceremony shall take place on October 1st, 2016.

6.1. The top 3 women and men in the individual rankings and the top 3 clubs and companies in team rankings shall be awarded.

6.2. Participants, who have completed all 6 events, shall receive special Cup mementos and diplomas.

6.3. Participants, who have completed at least 4 events of the 6, have the right to receive a Cup diploma after October 2nd, 2016, which will be issued at the Office of Club Tartu Maraton or sent, upon request and covering postal fees, to the Participant’s postal address .

7. All the events in the Cup shall be organized according to the regulations of the respective events.

8. Protests concerning the final rankings of the Cup must be brought in 3 days of the last event of the Cup.

9. If one of the 6 events is cancelled, the overall rankings shall be determined using the result of the top 4 events, and yearly mementos shall be awarded to the Participants that have completed all of the 5 events.

10. All of the other cases, not mentioned in the current regulations shall be solved by Board of the Club Tartu Maraton.
