Over 1500 skaters took part in the 13th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon

Baltics’ biggest inline skating event took place today for the 13th time. Estonia’s best male skater, Marten Liiv, won the event for a second time (last time was in 2016). Events’ four time winner, Olympic speed skater Marina Zueva (Belarus), won among women.
As expected, it all came down to a big group finish. Liiv finished the 42 km distance with a time of 1:09.28,4 and beat the 2017 and 2018 winner Reinis Znotins (Latvia) and the 2012 winner Bartosz Chojnacki (Poland).
Among women Belarussian Marina Zueva won the event for the fourth time (overall 10th today, 1:09.31,9). Two best women, Zueva and a 15 year old Latvian Agate Priedite finished in the main group which in all consisted 25 skaters. Russian Julia Barakova won the third place (+04.13).
In total 1061 skaters registered for today's races. 485 of them skated the long 42 km distance, 355 skated the half marathon and 221 skated the shortest 10 km distance.
Before the main races, the Tartu Inline Skating Marathon’s children’s events took place. According to the preliminary results, a record breaking 450 children took part in it.
The next event in the Cube’s series is the 22nd Tartu Rattamaraton (MTB marathon), which takes place on September 15th.
