Nearly 600 cyclists took part in the pre-events of the 21st Tartu MTB Marathon

Third biggest MTB event in the world, the Tartu MTB Marathon will take place next week. Today’s pre-events of the event, the official training and the Tartu MTB Marathon Relay, attracted an impressive 581 cyclists to the course.
The pre-events took place between the small towns of Otepää and Elva, as do next week’s main races.
Today’s programme kicked off with the relay marathon. This year a total of 53 teams with three members took part in it, which is 20 more than last year. There were some teams that consisted of top Estonian cyclists and some of the teams just enjoyed the nice summer day.
Also, the Tartu MTB Marathon’s official training took place. According to the preliminary data, 422 cyclists checked out the course before the main event. That’s about 120 more than last year.
21st Tartu MTB Marathon will be held in South-Estonia on September 16th. As of today, over 4800 cyclists have registered for the main distances (89, 40 and 21 km).
A day before, September 15th, the children´s bike races of the MTB marathon take place in the Estonian historical University town Tartu. Approximately 3000 children are expected to attend the event.
