The Tartu Forest Marathon (formerly Tartu Running Marathon) got itself a 42 km distance, which will be held on the beautiful South-Estonian landscape.
Voted as the best Estonian running event, the Tartu Forest Marathon’s 42 km distance starts in Otepää and finishes in Elva, just like the 23 km distance. The 42 km course is varied, going up and down, left to right. Short asphalt’s sections alternate with beautiful forest and gravel paths. First part of the course is a little bit harder than the last part, but overall the course’s difficulty level can’t be called hard.
„The 42 km course is suitable for a nice and long running hike, it suits for the runners who aim to enjoy beautiful nature on a great track. Because of the course’s character, we won’t expect many personal bests,“ said Race Director Indrek Kelk.

In addition to the 42 km running, there are 23, 10 and 5 km running and Nordic walking distances in the programme. It is worth mentioning that this year the 23 km distance is about 300 m longer than last year (from 23,4 km to 23,7). The tracks for the 10 and 5 km distances, which both start and finish in Elva, stay the same.
Best prices for the 36th Tartu Forest Marathon are available up to the 13th of April. Approximately 3500 runners and Nordic walkers are expected to take part of the event.
