According to the preliminary data, a total of 1260 children took part in the 45th Tartu Maraton’s children’s events held in the Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park on Saturday, 17th of February - 897 children participated in the TILLUraces and 363 children skied the MINImarathon.
Club Tartu Maraton’s project manager Oliver Kivimäe said that today’s children’s events were great. “In addition to the proper snow that fell down for the events, a very good number of children came to take part in the wintry skiing party. I think that we can for sure be satisfied,” he said.
Children’s events were also special for the fact that each child received in addition to the bag of goods a medal and a flag with the EV100 symbolics in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
The next stage of Tartu Maraton Cube and Tartu Maraton Mini Cube sports series takes place at the beginning of May with the 36th Tartu Forest Run (formerly named Tartu Running Marathon).
The main races of the 45th Tartu Maraton will be held tomorrow, on the 18th of February with 31 and 63 km distances.
