7000 riders took part in the 35th Tartu Rattaralli

Biggest road cycling event in the Eastern-Europe Tartu Rattaralli celebrated the 35th edition of the competition with close to 7000 riders. Exact number of total participants of all the events was 6901.
„During the 35 years that Tartu Rattaralli has taken place, we have managed to make it the biggest road cycling event in Eastern-Europe,“ said race director Indrek Kelk. „During the last couple of years the number of participants hasn’t grown but we are happy that we have a stable base of cyclists who are happy to come back to Rattaralli every year“.
35th Tartu Rattaralli was won by Matti Manninen from Finland who managed to beat local favorite Mihkel Räim. Silver Mäoma was third. Fastest female rider was Liisa Ehrberg.
Total of 1535 cyclists finished the 135km distance and 2033 in the 56km distance. On Saturday a total of 3230 younger riders took part in the Tartu Rattaralli Childrens’ events. The program of Tartu Rattaralli started on Friday with the UCI 2.1 category Tour of Estonia which was won by Grzegorz Stepniak (CCC Sprandi Polkowice).
Tartu Marathon Cube leaders after Tartu Rattaralli are Sille Puhu and Allar Soo. Next event in the Cube series is 10th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon on the 21st of August.
