SA Tartu University Hospital Children's Foundation was founded in 2000 by 26 people of whom some worked in the hospital but most were just caring entrepeneurs or active citizens.
The goal of the foundation has always been the same: improving health care possibilities for children in Tartu with the voluntary help of the public and financial support from people. In 2009 the foundation concentrated on explaining to the public how important constant donations are.
SA Tähtvere Leisure Park manages and develops the existing recreational, entertainment and sports infrastructure, including Estonia's first BMX cross track, skate park and a children's playground on the border of river Emajõgi. In winter the sports park uses artificial snow to provide high quality ski tracks and a skate rink is open right under the arch of the festival arena. You can rent skis and skates from the rental.
All year round many sports and cultural events take place in the leisure park's area. You can also rent rooms for conferences, meetings, seminars or private parties, various halls or a sauna.
