A record breaking 8731 runners and Nordic walkers took part in Tartu City Marathon’s events

As of preliminary data, 8731 runners enjoyed Estonian autumn in the three events of the 8th Tartu City Marathon.
Marathon weekend started on Friday with the Friday Night Run. The event kicked off at 8 p.m. with a concert from famous Estonian duo Genka & Paul Oja. One hour later they gave a start to the running part. As of preliminary data, 1490 runners took part in the Friday Night Run.
On Saturday both the main distances (42, 21 and 10 km) and children’s events took place. In the main distances 4036 runners and Nordic walkers participated with the 10 km being the most popular distance (1999 runners and walkers).
The always popular children’s events attracted 3205 (also new record!) little runners to the second biggest town in Estonia.
