The children's races of the 24th Tartu MTB Marathon take place on September 18th in Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park. Every finisher receives a medal and can win raffle prizes from sponsors.
Oliver Kivimäe, the project manager of the Club Tartu Marathon, is glad that the children's races take place in an ordinary manner despite the complicated situation and increased workload. "Last year the number of participants who could take part of the children's races was limited and we had to conduct the races in two shifts. This year, thanks to COVID certificates we can allow everyone to go on the track" he says.
The distances of children's races range from 400 m to 5,1 km and can be chosen according to the children's ages. Registration at Tartu Marathon's website is mandatory. Competition numbers can be collected on September 18th from 10 am at Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park. On-the-spot registration opens at the same time. The participation fee is 3 euros.
Children and youngsters under the age of 18 do not need to provide the Covid certificate. Adults who wish to accompany children on the track must show a valid Covid certificate when entering the start corridor. In case of no existing certificate, antigen test can be taken for a fee in the MTB Marathon race centre in the shopping mall Lõunakeskus (level 0, across ice skate rental desk) starting from 10 am on September 18th.
The children's races can also be completed virtually on your chosen track and day in the time period of 10th to 26th September. Virtual race's finishers will receive their medals via postal service. Additionally it is possible to print out the starting number and diploma from Tartu Marathon's homepage.
