This year’s Tartu City Marathon takes place on the 6th of October. Celebrating Estonia’s 100th anniversary, the marathon surprises runners with a new 42 km course. 21 and 10 km tracks stay the same as last year.
Changes on the track mean basically three things: course has less gravel sections (dropping from a total of 4 km to 1,5 km), it’s with an easier profile and it is closer to the city center. The changes also mean that it is more interesting for the runners because there are more turns and less long straights. Main sightseeing attractions near the city center are still on the course for runners to enjoy.

Tartu City Marathon is one of the biggest running events in Estonia with over 7000 participants. Last year a record breaking 3488 people participated in the main distances and nearly 3000 children took part in the children’s events. The day before the Friday Night Run takes place, last year 1170 nightrunners took part in it.
