Warm weather attracted over 3500 children to run in Tartu

According to the preliminary data, 3507 children participated in the children's events of the 36th Tartu Forest Marathon at the Tähtvere Sports Park today, on May 12th.

In TILLUraces the number of participants was 2603. In MINImarathon a total of 904 children took part in.

Oliver Kivimäe, the project leader of Tartu Maraton said that it was nice to see many families enjoy sunny weather and sporty Saturday before the Mother's Day, which is celebrated on Sunday. "Events just like that remind us how important and fun it is to spend time with our families," he said.

Children of any age are welcomed to participate in Tartu Maraton's Mini Cube events. Every finisher receives a medal, a diploma and a bag with goods. Participation is free of charge.

Today's children’s events were a warm-up for tomorrow's (May 13th) main races of the 36th Tartu Forest Marathon, where 5, 10, 23 and 42 km distances can be run.

As of today, including yesterday's number of the Charity Run's participants, which is 1226 people, Tartu Forest Marathon's weekend's first two days has brought together in total of 4733 people.

Tartu Maraton’s children events' next stage will be held in two weeks, on May 26th, during the 37th Tartu Road Race cycling events. TILLUraces' and MINImarathons' starts will be given in Tartu at the beginning of the Turu street.
