Last year’s winner Raivo Alla triumphed once again at the Tartu City Marathon’s 42 km distance, finishing first with a time of 2:31.52.

Alla got away from others at the beginning of the race and finished over four minutes ahead of everyone. British Jonathan Rosenbrier won a second place (2:36.20) and ultra triathlete Rait Ratasepp finished third. „When I got to the half way mark I realized that I can’t get the course record. At the end I had some cramps and overall I’m just happy that I stayed strong until the end,“ said Alla.

Fastest woman at the 42 km distance was Moonika Pilli with a time of 3:00.59.

Estonia’s best steeplechase runner Kaur Kivistik won the 21 km race while Roman Fosti finished first at the 10 km distance.

Total of 3488 started today for the 6th Tartu City Marathon. This is also a new record of the event.
