As part of the program of the 35th Tartu Jooksumaraton, today's Charity Run in Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park in collaboration with Lastefond collected money for little Mihhail, who is diagnosed with Michel aplasia and needs help with the costs of his treatment travels. According to the preliminary data, beautiful spring weather brought together 2420 do-gooders.
Lastefond's strategy leader Küllike Saar said that the number of participants who donated a large amount of money was practically twice of last year's number. "I have no other words for that than SUPER! Big thanks to all the runners!"
Niinemets was surprised that so many people showed up. "It was a big and great surprise that people just came to run the enjoyable track and do a favor for a little boy," he said.
According to Küllike Saar, Lastefond has made an agreement with Niinemets - he will be the patron of the Charity Run for three years. "He promised to run as a patron next two years also", told Saar. "Maybe I will come the next thirty years and do a Nordic walk with the seniors," joked Niinemets.
Registration for the Charity Run was free of charge for everyone, but each participant was asked to donate at least 1 euro for Mihhail. For every participant the sponsors Rehviekspert, Lasita Maja, If Kindlustus, Nutri Medical, Uus Apteek and KeyCube.com donated together additional 5 euros. It means that every participant donated at least 6 euros.
In addition, HeyDay, Apollo Kino, Roomscape and Piletilevi put out many prizes for the participants.
