5th Tartu City Marathon was won by Raivo Alla

Raivo Alla beat the course record of Tartu City Marathon by more than four minutes by running the time of 2:28.09. Former Estonian biathlon team member Indrek Tobreluts won the half-marathon and Rauno Laumets was the fastest in the 10km race.

Raivo Alla lead from the start and there was no doubt in his victory for even once. But he didn’t have actually any idea about his time. „Close to my personal best time. I am very happy. I didn’t have my watch on me and I was just running with a good feeling,“ said Alla after the finish.

Second was Jevgenijs Turkins with a time of 2:34.28 and third was Rait Ratasepp with a time of 2:34:45. Ratasepp is most famous for doing ultratriathlons having finished second only a month ago in a decatriahtlon in Switzerland.

Fastest woman in the marathon distance was Jana Treier from Estonia with a time of 3:07.47.

Former Estonian biathlete and olympian Indrek Tobreluts won the half-marathon distance with a time of 1:14:32. Dimitri Aristov was second (1:14.35) and Karel Viigipuu third (1:14.38). Fastest women was Ilona Marhele from Latvia with a time of 1:18.03.

10km distance was won by Rauno Laumets with a time of 32:29. Best female runner was Olga Andrejeva with a time of 37:58.

Total of 3226 started today for the 5th Tartu City Marathon. This is also a new record of the event.
