MAP: Where can you ski on Tartu Maraton course this weekend?
Despite the fact that 44th Tartu Maraton will not take place this year, organizers have completed a training course for all the XC skiing tourist coming to Estonia this weekend.
The maps shows which parts of the Tartu Maraton 63km course are in good condition (can also be skied with new skis), which are in satisfactory condition (olders skis recommended) and where there is no course or the course is very bad (no skiing recommended).
„We have managed to produce a course that propably won’t hold up 5000 skiers but is enough for those hundreds of people that will be coming to South-Estonia this weekend despite the cancellation of Tartu Maraton,“ said race director Indrek Kelk. „All the skiers are welcome to use the courses this weekend“.
Tomorrow children’s events of the Tartu Maraton will take place in Tartu, Tähtvere leisure park. Close to 2000 children are expected to come to one of the biggest children’s ski events in the world. Children’s events will start at 11 on Saturday.
