Close to 6000 peopole took part in the 4th Tartu City Marathon
Last stage of the Tartu Marathon Cube was 4th Tartu City Marathon and records were broken both in the main events and also in the childrens’ races. Total of 5868 people took part in the 4th Tartu City Marathon.
On Saturday, 3rd of October, both childrens’ events and main distances took place.
42km marathon runners started the day at 9.00. Total of 546 runners finished the race. Rait Ratasepp of Estonia won with a time of 2:35.40. Mari Boikov (EST) was the fastest female with a time of 2:56.05.
At 10.30 half-marathon runners started their race. Tiidrek Nurme of Estonia set a new course record with a strong time – 1:07.04. Best women was Viivi-Anne Soots with a time of 1:27.00. Total of 714 runners finished the 21km distance.
Main distances where finished with the shortest 10km race where a total of 1486 runners and nordic walkers started. The race was won by a former Estonian biathlete Indrek Tobreluts. Fastest women was Outi Hytönen from Finland.
Total of 3121 children took part on the same day at the Main Town Hall square at Tartu. 2178 of them participated in the shorter races (400m and 600m) and 943 in the 1km race.
Tartu Marathon Cube was won by Kert Keskpaik (EST) and Reeda Tuula (EST). Total of 15 025 people took part in the Tartu Matahon Cube 2015 series.
