Over 1500 skaters participated in the 9th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon
9th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon finished yesterday with the main distances where a total of 1553 skaters participated. This is one of the biggest participation numbers in the history of Tartu Inline Skating Marathon
„Two days of competitions brought together so much people whith positive emotions and stress free aura. It’s quite rare to see this in a mass sport event,“ said race director Kunnar Karu.
A total of 986 skaters participated in the main events – 570 in the 42km distance, 298 in the 21km distance and 118 at the new 10km race.
9th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon was won by Kert Keskpaik who defended his title from the last year. Marina Zueva of Belarus was the best women.
Biggest growth in the participation numbers was in the childrens’ events where a total of 362 children took part. This is new participation record.
New record was also set in the Tartu Inline Sprint events where a total of 55 skaters took part. 5th Tartu Inline Sprint was won by Marten Liiv. Enel Kõrva won the womens’ race.
On 6th and 14th of August free official trainings started the Tartu Inline Skating program. A total of 150 skaters took part in the official trainings.
New leader of the Tartu Marathon Cube after 9th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon is Sander Linnus with 3784 points. Reeda Tuula (3742 points) is the leader in the womens race to the title of Tartu Marathon Cube.
Next event in the Tartu Marathon Cube is 18th Tartu Rattamaraton (MTB race) on the 20th of September.
