Almost 7500 cyclists took part in the 34th Tartu Rattaralli


A total of 7446 took part in the Eeastern European biggest cycling event 34th Tartu Rattaralli in the weekend. Local boy Martin Laas from Estonian national team was the overall winner in the Tour of Estonia.

Big cycling weekend begun on Friday in Tallinn where the first stage of Tour of Estonia started. 197km long Tallinn-Tartu GP for pro cyclists was won by Martin Laas who managed to defend his leader jersey also on Saturdays second stage Tartu GP and thus was the overall winner of Tour of Estonia 2015.

A total of 3510 children took part in the Saturdays Tartu Rattaralli childrens’ events which makes it the biggest childrens’ cycling event in the world.

On Sunday the main distances of 142km and 63km took place.  Andri Kulik of Ukraine was the winner in the 142km distance, Mamyr Stash (Russia) was second and Karlo Aia (Estonia) third. A total of 1696 riders finished the longer distance and 2108 in the shorter.

New leaders of the Tartu Maraton Cube are Rait Pallo and Reeda Tuula.

Next event in the Tartu Maraton Cube series is 9th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon which takes place on the 23rd of August.
