SEB 8th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon was won by Estonian Kert Keskpaik

Third time in the history of Tartu Inline Skating Marathon the race was won by an Estonian. Kert Keskpaik managed to beat a tough line-up despite an injury.

Keskpaik injured himself yesterday in the 4th Tartu Inline Skating Sprint. “I knew that my form is good but I wasn’t sure at all before the race because of the injury”, said Keskpaik. “Fortunately I felt okay during the race and managed to brake away of the group”.

Keskpaik broke away with Wojciech Baran (Poland) and Nikolai Jugai (Russia) during the middle of the race and managed to stay ahead until the end. Baran and Keskpaik battled for the win in the end and the Estonian managed to come out with a win.

Laima Kaufina from Latvia was the best female skater. She managed to beat Marina Zueva (Belarus) on the line. Enel Kõrva (Estonia) was third.

A total of 1063 skaters started for today’s SEB 8th Tartu Inline Skating Marathon – 696 for the longer 42km distance and 367 for the shorter 21km distance.
