Almost 4500 children are expected to join for a cycling day in Tartu city center

On this Saturday, May 31st the world’s largest cycling event for children takes place: the TILLUrace and MINIrally of the SEB 33rd Tartu Rattaralli. Up to 4500 children are expected to take part. The registration is now open.

“It is unbelievable!” said the UCI commissioner Christian Magiera last year when there were 3600 children cycling. Magiera was really impressed by the number of children and their parents enjoying this cycling event. “It’s hard to imagine that it’s true!” he said back then.

The number of the participants in the Club Tartu Maraton children’s events has grown significantly with every year. The first time, over 4000 children took part,  was in the SEB 32nd Tartu Jooksumaraton in mid-May this year. Taking account the growth of the Jooksumaraton’s parcitipants number, the number of participants in Rattaralli may increase over 4000 as well. Organizers are ready to welcome even 4500 children.

There are four distances to choose from and they are divided by the age groups: for younger children 500 m or 1,1 km, for school children 5,2 and 10,5 km.

The pre-registration started today, May 26th and is open until May 29th 17:00 (Estonian time).

On Sunday, June 1st the main races of the SEB 33rd Tartu Rattaralli take place. Aroung 4000 cyclist start their 133 or 70 km long journey from Tartu city center on South-Estonia roads.
