The 41st Tartu Maraton Children’s Races had 1646 participants
Today, on the 18th of February the 41st Tartu Maraton Children’s Races were held in Tartu Tähtvere Sport Park with overall 1646 children on the track.In TILLUraces, meant for the smallest children, 1067 little skiers took part. In MINImaraton races 579 young skiers participated.
Children races, a day before the legendary 41st Tartu Maraton, brought together children from different ages to enjoy a wonderful day with their friends, family and mascots. Amusing mascots raced with Marathon Mascots (cheerful bunnies) and also showed different skiing techniques to children.
All the participants of the races received a medal, a diploma and also a golden Kalev chocolate medal. There was also a raffle between all the participants for prices from different 41st Tartu Maraton partners.
The 41st Tartu Maraton Children races are part of and started the Tartu Mini Complex Event 2012. Complex event is ideal for giving children a chance to get to know sports!
During the weekend, on the 18th-19th February, many different events for children and their families are organized in Tartu. Lõunakeskus skating rink, Aura Water Center, AHHAA Science Center are welcoming all children to enjoy activities in their complex for free or with extra good prices when presenting the medal of the children races. In addition, all Cinamon cinema visitors will receive a free popcorn and in Toy Museum everyone can participate in the handicraft workshops.
The 41st Tartu Maraton will be held already tomorrow, on the 19th of February!
