Rules & Regulations
ARTICLE 1. PURPOSE 1. 1 To organize in the city of Tartu a high sportive level MTB competition, which is attractive both for participants and spectators. The Sprint will take place on the day before the SEB 11. Tartu Rattamaraton (UCI cat. E1).
ARTICLE 2. ORGANIZER, TIME and PLACE 2.1. The Organizer of the competition is Club Tartu Maraton (Ph: +372 7 421644; Fax: +372 7422 536; e-mail: tartumaraton@tartumaraton.ee; website: http://www.tartumaraton.ee). 2.2. The Sprint takes place on September 20, 2008 in Tartu Tähtvere Sports Park next to Tartu Song Festival Arena by the following schedule:

ARTICLE 3. COURSE and DISTANCES 3.1. The Sprint will take place in Tartu Sportpark on 600m lap. 3.2. Preliminary rounds, semi-finals and B-final: 2 laps 3.3. A-final: 3 laps 3.4. The course will be open for training 48 hours before the first start. 3.5. On the race day the course is closed for training and warming up from 12:20.
ARTICLE 4. RACE RULES 4.1. Competition will take place according to the UCI MTB SC Regulations and the present document. 4.2. For qualification rounds the riders will be drawn to four groups. The starting groups of consolation rounds, semi-finals and finals will be composed by attached scheme.
ARTICLE 5. PARTICIPANTS, REGISTRATION, HANDOUT OF STARTING NUMBERS 5.1. Only invited riders are allowed to participate. The invitations will be sent to riders before September 12th 2008. There is no entry fee. Any M-Elite licensed rider, who has not been invited by the organizers, may send a written application for participation, including his best results of the last three seasons, before September 16th. The organizers will reply to the rider in three days from receiving the application at the latest. 5.2. If more than 24 invited M-Elite class riders have sent their applications to participate, the organizers have the right to select the riders for the final list on Thursday, September 18th at the latest. Applied riders, who will not be on the final list, will be informed by telephone or e-mail on the same day. 5.3. The organizing committee will not be responsible for possible accidents. Rigid helmet is mandatory. The competitors are themselves responsible for their health. 5.4. The deadline for preliminary registration is Tuesday, September 16th 2008. 5.5. The official UCI entry form with the competitor’s data must be sent to Club Tartu Maraton by fax +372 7 422 536 or by e-mail: tartumaraton@tartumaraton.ee 5.6. Handout of start numbers and checking of licenses takes place on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:30 - 12:00 at the start area in Tähtvere Sports Park next to Tartu Song Festival Arena.
ARTICLE 6. AWARDING 6.1. The 12 best riders will be awarded with valuable trophies. 6.2. The total prize fund of the 8. Tartu MTB Sprint is 20 000 EEK. 6.3. Awarding of the 12 best riders will take place at 13:45 in Tähtvere Sports Park.
ARTICLE 7. PROTESTS 7.1. The protests can be launched in 5 minutes after the finish of the first rider of this race. 7.2. The protests will be handled by the Panel of Commissaires. 7.3. Other unforeseen problems, related to the competition, will be solved by the Jury consisting of the President Commissaire, the Secretary Commissaire and the Finish Commissaire.
ARTICLE 8. FINANCING 8.1. All expenses concerning participation must be covered by the riders or their organizations.
